Today’s Contra Costa Times ran a lovely story about our Friendly Visitors program and its role in a new program that lends eReaders to seniors.
“We had collected data, which showed that many seniors loved to read but couldn’t anymore due to not being able to turn the pages or see the small print,” Program Director Susannah Meyer said. “Some couldn’t afford books or get to the library anymore.” This pilot program, developed with the Contra Costa County Library, will help homebound seniors enjoy reading again.
