Mission
To reduce preventable injuries, loss of independence, costs and deaths associated with falls among seniors and people with disabilities by raising awareness and developing fall prevention programs in Contra Costa County.
Why Fall Prevention?
Falls are the leading cause of unintentional (accidental) injury deaths among Contra Costa residents 65 years and older, and the leading cause of unintentional injury hospitalizations for residents of all ages.
The Fall Prevention Program of Contra Costa County is a public and private partnership with representatives from the following agencies and organizations:
- Contra Costa County Area Agency on Aging
- Contra Costa County Employment and Human Services Department, In-Home Support Services
- Contra Costa County Fire Protection District
- Contra Costa Health Services
- Jewish Family and Children’s Services
- John Muir Senior Services
- Meals On Wheels by Senior Outreach Services
